Some things should never go unanswered and they include the attaboy press surrounding Special Counsel Robert Mueller's "sweeping indictment of three organizations and 13 Russian nationals for meddling in the 2016 US presidential election".
Discriminating minds will not accept indictment allegations as fact until they have been aired in court of law and proved beyond reasonable doubt. Mainstream western press characteristically is already concluding that the acts of indicted entities were significant despite lack of revealed substantive evidence.
Apparently the clever Mr. Mueller's "national security" training has well-taught him how to sway public opinion with innuendo. His indicted entities are all Russian and therefore not likely to be extradited in order to expedite a politically-motivated bureaucratic witch hunt. Consequently it is not likely that any meaningful public discussion of the allegations can take place—exactly what America's warmongering propagandists want.
Mr. Mueller can allege anything at all as long as he indicts foreigners with whom there is no extradition treaty, and he won't have to prove a thing. MSM will take over and "manufacture the consent of the governed" for most any retaliatory action, as we have learned from Noam Chomsky.
Every nation worldwide meddles in the affairs of others in direct proportion to abilities and interests. On scale, Russia's 2016 efforts were miniscule and noteworthy only when ludicrously hyped for political purposes.
We are not fans of the current administration however we are even less fans of deceit irrespective of source.
Below is the initial February blog entry from 2017—now edited for calendar relevance, clarity, and the addition of an uplifting observation by Jane Fonda.
The first year of America's "lesser-of-two-evils" administration has passed without apocalyptical fructification yet those who voted "for" in hopes of catastrophic change have not been completely disappointed.
"The ... [POTUS ink pen] writes; and having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it." 1
As would many voters who still oppose un-equivocating American exceptionalism irrespective of global consequence.2
1apologetically paraphrasing Omar Kayyam.
2In a recent conversation with Amy Goodman, Jane Fonda astutely observed: "Trump is a major negative energy. And when he moves out in the world, it releases positive energy from other people. So, in a way, there's something really good about it, because people are being enlivened, emboldened, activated, that never were before. We have an opportunity now to really, really make a difference ...". It appears, once again, the laudable Ms. Fonda is spot-on.
